Cat herder

One hell of a partner

2002 - 2008
I don't know how I'll get anything done around here without you.

Oh no, Sarah....what happened to your buddy Dan? I've got tears in my eyes - I remember that picture at the bottom when it was the banner photo for your blog. I asked you what he was doing and you told me those great big paws of his are wrapped around your arm.
I'm so sorry. My thoughts are sadness are with you and your family tonight. Such a good, good boy.

Thank you Danni. It's been two weeks since it became clear that, for quality of life reasons, he would need to be put down, and one week since I actually got up the guts to take him in and hold him while he went to sleep. I'm just now jumping back into life. He's been my working partner and friend for six years. This has been rough. I'm so glad that I had the option of giving him a painless passing, but that doesn't make it easier when his passing leaves me here without him.

Thank you so much for your comment. I don't need to tell you how much that means to me.

I am SO sorry to hear of your loss. I looked at the beginning pics and thought, "Wow, whatta dog", and then saw the last and my heart simply fell. I lost my precious Doberman last 12/1, after 11 wonderful years with her. I agree, it's good to give a painless passing, but the void left is at times unbearable when they've been a close companion for so long.

Bless you ......

So sorry to hear of your loss. It's so hard to lose them, worse still when they ought to have much more life yet to go. Such a blessing you could help him out with love. Big hugs!

Sorry to read about Dan. I remember when he was just little. Those were some good times in Logan. Good thing for good memories. Talk to you later.

Oh we're so sorry, dogs are so special, I always loved him on the header. I'm always torn between wishing they would live forever, or at least as long as their humans, or for just as long as we're allowed to keep them.

Love the "walk" down memory lane!
